Rubner

Rubner considers even the most complex timber job a stimulating challenge and by accomplishing with the requests of Architects and Developers, they define new standards in the fields of process and product technology, taking on a pioneering role in the timber processing sector.

Rubner is a group of companies having a direct presence (office and/or factory) in Italy (HQ), Austria, Germany and France, with over 90-year experience, +1200 staff and a very firm family management. Rubner’s “Passion For Wood” is the reason why the company is constantly growing, innovating and called to participate in complex jobs. Rubner considers even the most complex timber job a stimulating challenge and by accomplishing with the requests of Architects and Developers, they define new standards in the fields of process and product technology, taking on a pioneering role in the timber processing sector. Rubner is one of the very few European groups having an in-house wood production and cutting, transformation and installation, in a gapless vertical value-added chain starting with the raw material up to a completed jobsite.

Rubner Holzbau produces both Glulam (Glued Laminated Timber) and CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) in different European factories. The know-how of the company sits not just in the production process, but in a customer-oriented Technical Department in which decades of experience in hundreds of jobs have developed an impressive efficiency. No matter whether you need simple load-bearing systems or complex timber constructions, construction kits or all-in-one solutions – Rubner Holzbau approach and intent is to professionally and reliably assist business partners. At your request, Rubner Holzbau takes care either of the entire project planning process including detailed engineering and workshop design, down to be accounted to construction site management across different trades or Rubner simply assume production, delivery and assembly of individual building elements.

Glued laminated timber (Glulam)

elements like beams, columns, etc., mostly in spruce for internal uses larch for exposes applications. Available other species on demand.

Cross laminated timber (CLT)

elements vacuum-pressed. CLT is ideal for floor-to-ceiling and across-floor elements, walls and roof elements providing mainly stiffening and even surfaces that remain visible.

Roof elements

REI 30, REI 60 and REI 90 in accordance with EN 13501-2, made of pre-fabricated timber. Due to the high pre-fabrication degree they provide a rapid and thus cost-efficient installation, regardless of prevailing weather conditions.

Timber-glass facades

ecologic and economic large façade structures in timber, either fixed to traditional post and beam facades or fully pre-assembled elements including all required insulating panels, windows and wall cladding.

Hybrid Multi-Storey Buildings

The engineering that Rubner Holzbau implements is based on efficiency (both structural and economical) and different materials full knowledge. Rubner Holzbau uses both timber engineered products, as well as steel and concrete, in modern hybrid timber buildings which are by far the most efficient solution in most of timber multi-storey buildings.

Aesthetics and Durability

Rubner Holzbau can provide elements featuring all the different grades of aesthetical quality, from industrial to A-quality (residential).

Prefabrication

Most of the jobs completed by Rubner Holzbau as main contractor and more and more a tendency in the timber market is to receive from factory fully prefabricated elements, ready to be put in place. Rubner can provide with steel connections, steel plinths, bracing and anything else that complement the timber elements.

Fire Performances

Given timber a material which fire consumption rate (charring rate) is known, world most important structural engineers satisfactorily work with timber elements knowing their behaviour under fire. Rubner Holzbau engineering can predict the fire behaviour/structural resistance of their elements in order to achieve ultra-safe buildings.
