Electrolux Office and Showroom Building

Port of Brisbane has partnered up with Electrolux Group to develop a 4.22 hectares site in Lytton, at the Port West industrial Estate.

The project consists of a 21,255 sqm warehouse, built with conventional materials, and a high-end showroom, first floor office and dock office built using MET (mass engineered timber) solutions. Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd (PBPL) CEO Neil Stephens said: “This will be the first time PBPL will seek to deliver a 6-Star Green-Star rated facility for our customers and the opportunity to do so aligns strongly with our own sustainability ambitions. We’re extremely pleased to be working collaboratively with the Electrolux Group to ensure we deliver this for them in line with their own global sustainability objectives”. The new facility is only 6 km away from the Port’s terminals and wharves, in a highly sought-after industrial land. It will minimise first and last mile transport costs, also achieving improved truck access and significant logistics and cost benefits. Theca Timber has partnered up with Port of Brisbane and Northrop from the very early beginning, cooperating with the consulting team to improve the efficiency in design, value engineer the structure using best products for their specific application and providing a constant feedback on budget, through the entire design process. Theca timber specialist consultant team of timber professionals, hand in hand with Northrop Consulting Engineering experts, brought the design to manufacturability, transportability and ease of erection. At last, Theca Timber has been contracted to the supply of the entire structure with delivery to site and to assist McNab installation team during the erection of the building.
